Happily married couples are healthier and live longer. They make more money and accumulate more wealth. Happily married couples have happier, healthier children. Happily married couples have more, and better, sex!
What is the secret of happily married couples?
Are they are better matched, better looking, more in love, or maybe they're just more passionate?
No.
Do they have fewer differences or less to fight about?
No.
We now know that successful couples have the same number of disagreements as couples that get divorced.
It may surprise you to know that all couples disagree about the same issues: money, sex, housework, time, kids, and the in-laws.
The major difference between couples with successful marriages and couples that struggle in their marriage is how they handle their differences.
Successful couples understand how to disagree with each other in a way that doesn't tear down the relationship but makes it stronger.
Successful couples also have attitudes, education, and skills which help them build and maintain long-term happiness and satisfaction.
The good news is that you, and your spouse, can get the education, learn the skills, and develop the right attitudes too.
